Alessi — Banana Milk Bowl | Giovannoni Design Milk Jug

A di Alessi - Banana Milk Bowl Milk Jug - Sweetness Has a Shape

A yellow banana that becomes a milk jug: there is something disarmingly simple about this creative gesture. Placing it on the breakfast table is already a little story, a way to start the day with irony and grace. Stefano Giovannoni transforms the everyday into something that brings a smile, without ever sacrificing functionality.

Why we chose it for you

The Banana Milk Bowl was created from Giovannoni's encounter with the collections of Taiwan's National Palace Museum during The Chin Family project. That contact with the millennia-old tradition of Chinese applied arts - and the graceful eighteenth-century ceramic trinkets - inspired a family of objects in which each fruit or character serves a domestic function. The result is a piece that belongs to Alessi's history: an Italian applied arts workshop since 1921, always capable of transforming a utilitarian object into an object of culture.
