There is something hypnotic about the bartender’s stirring motion: a circular, almost ritual movement that transforms separate ingredients into a single, harmonious composition. Alessi’s 5054 stirrer accompanies this gesture with the quiet precision of polished 18/10 stainless steel - a surface that reflects the bar’s light like a water mirror, cool to the touch, perfect in its formal simplicity. Twenty-six centimeters of precisely calibrated length, designed to respond naturally to the hand. Behind this apparently modest object lies a far from ordinary signature: that of Ettore Sottsass, undisputed master of twentieth-century Italian design, founder of the Memphis Group and a radical voice in an aesthetic that knew how to overturn every convention. Here, in collaboration with Alberto Gozzi - a key figure in the relationship between Alessi and the world of design - Sottsass gives mixology a tool that does not want to be invisible. It wants to be recognized, held, observed. We at Stilmobili chose it because we believe that everyday gestures also deserve objects that rise to the occasion.
