Alessi — 90010/I | Marianne Brandt Polished Steel Ashtray

There is something radically honest about the form of this ashtray: two polished steel elements that fit together with the silent precision of someone who has nothing to prove. The reflective surface captures the light and returns it multiplied, transforming an everyday object into a small tabletop architecture. Its compact diameter - eleven centimeters - makes it a discreet yet unmistakable presence, capable of conversing with any surface: the desk, the coffee table, or the windowsill of a study. Marianne Brandt, the leading figure in the Bauhaus metal workshop during the 1920s, is one of the clearest and most visionary figures in twentieth-century European design. Her research into the sphere, cylinder, and industrial metals anticipated decades of reflection on the relationship between form and function. Alessi chose to honor her thinking by including this piece in the Officina Alessi collection, the catalog that has always hosted the most radical and conceptually rich projects from the Crusinallo manufacturer - those that refuse to compromise with simplification. At Stilmobili, we chose the 90010/I because it perfectly embodies what we look for when selecting a furnishing accessory: the ability to be both useful and contemplative. It is the right piece for those who inhabit a space consciously, who recognize in a metal detail the same care devoted to an entire architectural work. Ideal for a prestigious office, a private study, or as a gift for a collector of historic design. Project notes: Polished stainless steel, two stackable elements. Diameter 11 cm, height 5.5 cm. Weight 330 g. Officina Alessi Collection.
