Alessi — 9093 9093/1 Y | Graves kettle with yellow bird-shaped whistle

There is something almost childlike yet perfectly serious about the whistle that comes from this kettle whenever the water reaches boiling point. It is not just any acoustic signal: it is a canary-yellow bird perched on the spout, singing. The body is polished 18/10 stainless steel, solid and precise, with a yellow polyamide handle that echoes the bird's color and adds visual warmth even before the flame does its work. The shape is that of an almost perfect cone — pure geometry turned into an everyday object. Michael Graves designed this kettle in 1985, and it was immediately clear that it was something more than a kitchen accessory. A postmodern-trained architect, Graves brought his ability to transform function into visual narrative to Alessi: every element has a symbolic as well as practical role. The 9093 became one of the iconic objects of the collaboration between Alessi and the world of international architecture, displayed in museums and used every morning in thousands of kitchens. In 1990, it entered the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. At Stilmobili, we chose it because it perfectly embodies the tension that fascinates us: the fine line between a functional object and a collector's piece. It is ideal for those who see the kitchen as a space for aesthetic care, for those who know the history of design and want every gesture — even preparing tea — to have its own formal dignity. It is also a gift with an unmistakable personality. Project notes: capacity 100 cl, diameter 20 cm, height 20.5 cm. Magnetic steel base compatible with induction cooktops. Available in the spring-summer yellow version.
