Alessi — 9093 BB | Michael Graves black stainless steel kettle

There is something theatrical about Michael Graves's 9093 kettle: the conical form widening toward the base, the glossy black stainless steel absorbing light without reflecting it, the polyamide handle inviting a grip with an almost homely naturalness. But it is the small, ironic, memorable bird whistle that tells the whole story. When the water reaches boiling point, that delicate sound transforms an everyday gesture into a moment of pure theater: the steam rises, the bird sings, and the kitchen becomes a stage. Designed by Michael Graves in 1985 and becoming over time one of the most iconic objects in the history of industrial design, the 9093 was born from the postmodern vision of an architect who firmly believed in the ability of everyday objects to speak a symbolic language. Graves, famous for his colorful and narrative buildings - from the Portland Building to the Denver Central Library - brought that same sensibility to Alessi: architecture reduced to the essence of a handle, a whistle, a silhouette. The black version, BB, adds a further dimension: the chromatic sobriety enhances the sculptural proportions of the piece, making it almost a collector's item before it is a kitchen object. We chose it for Stilmobili because it perfectly embodies that tension between function and storytelling at the heart of our selection. It is the kettle for those who furnish with intention, for those who recognize in everyday life an opportunity for an aesthetically conscious gesture. Perfect in a contemporary kitchen with chromatic rigor, as well as in an eclectic interior that enjoys a dialogue between design eras. Project notes: 2-liter capacity, diameter 22 cm, height 22.5 cm.
