Alessi — 9096 | Michael Graves stainless steel creamer

There is something unmistakably American - and at the same time surprisingly domestic - in the way Michael Graves redesigned Italian tableware. The 9096 cream jug is a small, perfect example: a polished 18/10 stainless steel body, capable of reflecting kitchen light like a pool of still water, and an azure polyamide handle that introduces a touch of color with the ease of someone who knows that every detail matters. A clean, almost geometric form that does not forgo softness where it is needed - where the hand meets the object.

Michael Graves, a Princeton architect and central figure in American Postmodernism, entered Alessi's orbit in the 1980s with disruptive force. His approach - colorful, symbolic, and openly anti-minimalist - found in Alessi a partner capable of translating theory into objects for everyday use. The kettle with the bird-shaped whistle became iconic, but it is in more discreet pieces like this one, where the care invested in the design is measured by the relationship between hand and material, that his creative vision perhaps reveals itself most fully.

At Stilmobili, we chose the 9096 because it embodies what we look for in every piece: the ability to make an everyday gesture extraordinary. Pouring cream into Sunday morning coffee is not a mundane act when the object in your hand tells a story of authentic design. It is intended for those who love setting the table with intention, for those who see the table as a space for aesthetic care just as much as the living room.
