There is something surprisingly affectionate about a mechanical kitchen timer. The gesture of turning the dial, the rhythmic ticking that marks the cooking time, the final ring that brings you back to the present: such simple objects preserve a domestic ritual that no digital display has ever managed to replicate. Alessi's A09 B interprets this daily ritual with a round, compact form - 10.5 cm in diameter and light in weight - in black thermoplastic resin, a material that gives the piece a solid presence and understated, almost minimalist elegance. Michael Graves, an American architect and designer and one of the leading figures of postmodernism, designed this collection for Alessi in the 1990s as part of the "A di Alessi" project - a line intended to bring quality design to a broader audience without sacrificing the designer's signature or design culture. Graves had already collaborated with the Crusinallo manufacturer on some of the most iconic creations in contemporary kitchen design: his kettle with the whistling bird became a symbol. In this timer, the designer's hand can be recognized in the clean lines of the form and the choice of a crisp, bold color, without compromise. We chose it for Stilmobili because it perfectly represents what we believe in: everyday objects that can also be objects of culture. It is designed for those who see the kitchen as a space for care and aesthetics, not just function. Perfect as a stylish gift or as an addition to a kitchen with a contemporary feel.
