Alessi — AAM23 R | Alessandro M. Mendini red corkscrew

There is something unexpectedly human about a corkscrew that bears the name of its own creator. Alessandro M. is an object that does not hide behind its function: it declares it, celebrates it, and transforms it into a small sculpture to hold in your hand. The thermoplastic resin is tinted a vivid red - the color of wine, passion, and knowing irony - while the chromed zama brings with it the rigor and luster of metal. The result is an object that speaks before it is even used. Alessandro Mendini, a leading figure in late 20th-century Italian design, created one of the most fruitful partnerships in the history of objects with Alessi. The "A di Alessi" collection was born from this vision: to make design accessible without making it banal, and to bring author-designed pieces into Italian homes that could sit on a kitchen table just as comfortably as on a collector's table. Mendini - theorist, painter, architect, and director of Domus and Casabella - never stopped asking what it means to give form to an everyday object. Alessandro M. is, in this sense, a precise answer: light, colorful, playful. At Stilmobili, we chose this corkscrew because it perfectly embodies what we seek: the ability of a functional object to become a story. It is the ideal gift for those who love wine, but even more so for those who love well-thought-out things. It works beautifully as a standalone piece, yet naturally engages with other elements from the same collection. Project notes: height 21 cm, diameter 6 cm. Materials: red and white thermoplastic resin, chromed zama. A di Alessi collection. Design by Alessandro Mendini.
