Alessi — AAM33/3 | Mendini espresso maker, aluminium, 3 cups

There is something deeply familiar about the moka pot, yet this has never been an ordinary moka pot. Alessi's AAM33/3 is made from cast aluminum with a formal precision that restores full ritual dignity to the everyday act of making coffee. The body is solid, with a classic octagonal silhouette reinterpreted with contemporary rigor; the handle and knob in black thermoplastic resin complete the color composition with a clean, almost graphic contrast. Three cups: the right size for a shared breakfast or a pause worth taking care over in every detail. The AAM33/3 belongs to the *A di Alessi* collection, designed by Alessandro Mendini - one of the most influential figures in 20th-century Italian design, theorist of "Redesign" and a driving force behind movements such as Alchimia and European postmodernism. With this project, Mendini does not reinvent the moka pot: he distills it. He reduces it to its essentials, stripping away every superfluous ornament and restoring the form's original strength. A tribute to Italy's industrial tradition through the lens of an extraordinarily lucid vision. At Stilmobili, we chose this coffee maker because it precisely represents what we look for in every object we bring into the store: the ability to belong in the kitchen without disappearing, to be used every day without losing its appeal. It is ideal for those who want to create a kitchen or breakfast table with objects that have a recognizable history and design intent, without ostentation.
