Alessi — AC04 B | Polished steel fruit bowl, Castiglioni

There is something inevitable about the formal perfection of the AC04 B: a fruit bowl that does not merely contain, but orders the world around it. The polished stainless steel structure captures the light and reflects it multiplied, while the anthracite-colored aluminum foot introduces a restrained chromatic note, almost a dark counterpoint that enhances the brilliance of the upper bowl. Its profile is that of an object that knows its own proportions: twenty-five centimeters in diameter, a height measured to the millimeter, and a weight that conveys solidity without flaunting it. Achille Castiglioni — one of the clearest intellects of twentieth-century Italian design — always understood design as an act of clarity. The AC04 B belongs to this vision: a piece that needs no explanation, because its logic is visible, immediate, almost didactic in the noblest sense of the term. Castiglioni knew that great everyday objects should not amaze just once, but convince every day, every time they are touched or simply looked at. Alessi, with its long history of collaboration with the masters of Italian design, has been able to preserve and produce this piece with the fidelity it deserves. At Stilmobili, we chose the AC04 B because it represents exactly what we look for: objects that inhabit the table with discretion and authority. It is the ideal centerpiece for those who love design without emphasis, who prefer quality to decoration. Perfect in a contemporary kitchen as well as on a thoughtfully set table. Design notes: fruit bowl and drainer in polished stainless steel, foot in anthracite anodized aluminum. Diameter 25 cm, height 20.5 cm, capacity 150 cl. Designed by Achille Castiglioni for Alessi.
