Acta is a necklace that brings the grammar of industrial design to the neck, translating it into personal adornment. Made of steel with a hypoallergenic PVD coating in a warm gold tone, the chain extends for thirty-eight centimeters with a subtle yet determined presence, able to interact with the skin as naturally as a well-designed object inhabits a space. The treated metal reflects a dense, almost amber light, far from the conventional coldness of steel and close to the softness of gold without giving in to its ostentation. Acta was created by Elena Salmistraro, a Milanese designer and artist who is one of the most original voices on Italy's contemporary scene. Her work always moves between narrative and form, the animal world and abstraction, craftsmanship and industrial production. Salmistraro brings to Alessi - the historic manufactory in Crusinallo, long a meeting place for applied art and everyday life - her ability to transform a functional object into an object of meaning.
