Within its nine centimeters lies an entire world - the white porcelain paste, the areas of color applied by hand by skilled artisans, and the detail that is never exactly the same twice. The Little Shepherd was created through a collaboration between Massimo Giacon and Marcello Jori, two figures who have moved freely between art, comics, and design, bringing to Alessi a rare ability to play with popular iconography without ever losing formal rigor. Alessi's A Collection is one of the most successful experiments by the Crusinallo manufacturer in combining authorial visual culture with artisanal tradition: each piece is a small collectible object, not merely something to display.
