Alessi - Round Basket with Perforated Edge "Girotondo" in Stainless Steel

Alessi Girotondo Basket - Little Figures Dancing Around the Table

There is something disarming about the simplicity with which a row of stylized little figures can transform a fruit basket into an object to contemplate. The perforated edge catches the light, casts delicate shadows on the table, and brings with it that narrative lightness that only great design can give everyday objects.

Why we chose it for you

The AK003 basket belongs to the Girotondo collection, one of the most beloved and recognizable in Alessi's history. The silhouetted figures running along the edge were created by the King-Kong duo - Stefano Giovannoni and Guido Venturini - and represent one of the most iconic perforated patterns ever applied to tableware. Founded in 1921 on Lake Orta and always a research laboratory for the applied arts, Alessi has made this immediate and evocative visual language one of its distinctive features: design that speaks to everyone without ever compromising on material quality.

Ideal for

A refined gift for anyone who loves authentic Italian design - recognizable even to those unfamiliar with its history. On the dining table, it holds seasonal fruit with discretion and character; on the kitchen counter, it becomes a small compositional centerpiece. The black version suits more contemporary spaces, while the polished steel version is timeless.
