Alessi — Alessini Proust AM39S1 | Children's table set in bone china

There is something deeply tender about the idea of bringing the language of great design to the table of the little ones. The Alessini Proust set by Alessi - plate, bowl, and glass - is made of decorated fine bone china, that precious porcelain with an almost luminous translucency, here transformed into a chromatic universe that Alessandro Mendini had imagined specifically for the curious eyes of childhood. The colors overlap in irregular, joyful fields, evoking the pointillist painterly texture that the Milanese designer elevated into his personal stylistic signature. Alessandro Mendini, one of the undisputed leading figures of 20th-century Italian design, created some of the most iconic and recognizable works in the history of Alessi's Omegna factory. The Proust decoration - originally created in 1978 as a reinterpretation of a Baroque armchair covered in pure colors - eventually became an unmistakable pattern, a manifesto of his radical yet playful artistic vision. In the Alessini collection, that pattern finds a new and moving destination: the world of childhood, where beauty needs no explanation. We chose this set because it perfectly embodies the philosophy guiding Stilmobili's selection: objects with a soul, a story, and an aesthetic purpose that goes beyond function. It is the ideal gift for births, christenings, and birthdays for anyone who wants to offer something memorable - not a toy, but an object meant to grow alongside the person who uses it, and perhaps to be kept forever.
