"Liquid" by Alessandro Mendini transforms this everyday moment into a fully realized aesthetic act: the corkscrew is dressed in AlkiPaper® - a hybrid material, surprising to the touch, suspended between paper and living matter - and chromed zamak, with metal accessories treated in blue PVD. A deep, liquid blue, fittingly, like the wine about to be released. Alessandro Mendini, the restless and visionary spirit of Italian design, developed with Alessi one of the most fertile dialogues in the history of contemporary design. His work has always crossed the boundaries between functional object and work of art, between function and symbolic narrative. "Liquid" belongs to this dimension: it is not merely a corkscrew, but a small sculpture to hold, a piece bearing the signature of an unrepeatable vision.
