Alessi — AM44SET2 | Alessandro Stick, Mendini ebony chopsticks

Two ebony chopsticks, a small 18/10 stainless steel holder. In its almost ascetic simplicity, Alessandro Stick transforms an everyday gesture — bringing food to the mouth with the quiet precision of Eastern cultures — into a moment of pure domestic elegance. The dark, dense ebony wood conveys weight and warmth to the touch, while the polished metal holder introduces that tension between organic and industrial that is the unmistakable hallmark of Alessi's aesthetic. Alessandro Mendini, a central figure in Italian design and a tireless intellectual, created this object with the discretion reserved for things meant to last. Mendini — former director of Domus and Modo, and creator of the celebrated Anna G. corkscrew — knew that designing an everyday object is always also a cultural project. The chopsticks are not an exotic appropriation: they are an invitation to slow down, look at the table with new eyes, and rediscover the ritual of a meal as a form of attentiveness. At Stilmobili, we chose Alessandro Stick because it condenses everything we love about Italian design at its best into twenty-four centimeters of wood and metal: the ability to make function a pretext for beauty. It is the ideal gift for those who love Asian cuisine with an eye for aesthetics, but also for anyone looking for a table accessory capable of surprising without shouting. Perfect paired with a contemporary table setting or as a collectible piece for Mendini enthusiasts. Project notes: Set of two ebony chopsticks with an 18/10 stainless steel holder. Length 24 cm.
