Alessi — AMJ13 4 | Ox, blown-glass Christmas ornament

There is something ancient and wonderful about hand-blown glass: every piece carries the breath of the person who created it, along with a minimal, precious imperfection that no machine could ever replicate. Alessi's Ox - a Christmas tree bauble from Alessi's A Collection - is exactly that: an object that lives between the sacred and the playful, with its ovoid shape reaching fourteen and a half centimeters in height, hand-decorated with a level of care that transforms every piece into a unique work. The subject, the ox, recalls the most archaic Christmas iconography, that of the nativity scene and the stable, reinterpreted through the ironic and visionary gaze that distinguishes the entire collection. The project was born from the collaboration between the LPWK collective and Marcello Jori, a Bolognese artist and illustrator who is among the most original of his generation, known for a visual universe that blends European figurative tradition with disorienting pop irony. Within Alessi's A Collection - a manifesto of the Fabbrica dei Sogni, conceived to bring applied art directly onto the Christmas tree - Jori created an affectionate domestic bestiary, where every animal becomes the keeper of a story. We chose it for Stilmobili because it perfectly embodies what we believe in: that Christmas deserves objects worthy of being passed down, not consumed.
