Alessi — Anna G. Arborea AM01A 7 | AlkiPaper® and chrome-plated zamak corkscrew

There is something moving in the familiarity with which Anna G. lets herself be held. Her feminine silhouette - raised arms, slender waist, dress fading into a conical double-lever mechanism - has over time become one of the most recognizable objects of contemporary Italian design. The Arborea version bears a decoration signed by Fulvia Mendini: a botanical motif that climbs along the body in AlkiPaper®, a composite material capable of offering tactile warmth and a matte surface of rare elegance. The chrome-plated zamak of the mechanism reflects the light discreetly, without competing with the piece's visual narrative. Alessandro Mendini conceived it for Alessi in 1994, and since then Anna G. has become one of the symbolic objects of so-called "emotional design" - the movement that Mendini himself theorized and embodied for decades, convinced that everyday objects could and should carry stories, emotions, and even irony with them. The name is a personal tribute, never fully explained, which adds an air of mystery to its already intense stage presence. The Arborea version - with decorations created by his daughter Fulvia - transforms the corkscrew into a small family dialogue impressed into the material. At Stilmobili, we chose Anna G.
