Anna G. is not simply a corkscrew. She is a figure, a presence, almost a member of the household: that female silhouette with raised arms - ready to embrace the neck of a bottle - that has inhabited the kitchens and tables of those who know that even an everyday gesture deserves beauty since 1994. In the Delft version, Anna's body is adorned with a decoration evoking the blue-and-white maiolica of the Dutch tradition, printed on AlkiPaper® with the precision of an archival illustration. The chrome-plated zamak of the levers and spiral mechanism adds weight and solidity, restoring to the corkscrew the dignity of an object made to last. Alessandro Mendini - master of thoughtful and ironic design, theorist of Alchimia and Italian New Design - designed Anna G. as a character rather than a utensil. The name pays tribute to Anna Gili, designer and friend. In that stylized profile, Mendini condensed his vision: design as narrative, the utilitarian object as a story imbued with meaning. Over the years, Anna G. has become one of the archetypes of the Crusinallo Factory, appearing in dozens of chromatic and decorative variations that have made it a collectible icon. At Stilmobili, we chose the Delft version because it embodies, with rare coherence, the idea that a table accessory can be both a tool and a work of art.
