Alessi — AR04 B | Aldo Rossi black aluminum table lamp

There is something rigorously quiet about the AR04 B: a black aluminum column that rises with firmness and ends in a glass sphere, as if the light were a thought held back for a long time before being spoken. The dark body absorbs the surrounding space, while the sphere diffuses a soft, dimmable glow, capable of changing the atmosphere of a room with the simple press of a finger. The integrated touch dimmer returns an ancient gesture to the user - adjusting the light by hand - in an entirely contemporary form, without switches, without friction. The rechargeable battery frees it from every fixed constraint: an object that can be moved, carried, and placed wherever the evening calls for it. Aldo Rossi, one of the most influential Milanese architects and theorists of the 20th century, approached the world of design with the same rational geometry that characterized his architecture: pure volumes, references to collective memory, forms that always seem familiar yet never banal. His collaboration with Alessi produced some of the most studied and cited objects in the history of Italian design - from the La Conica coffee maker to the Il Conico kettle - and the AR04 B fits into this lineage with the same formal consistency, updated with LED technology and cordless portability. At Stilmobili, we chose this lamp because it speaks to those who consider light a design element, not merely an accessory. It is intended for those who furnish with intention: for a study, a distinctive bedside table, or a reading nook that deserves an object with its own story to tell. Project notes: height 47 cm, diameter 18 cm, 5W 5V LED source, rechargeable battery with an adapter featuring interchangeable plugs. Structure in matte black painted aluminum, diffuser in blown glass.
