Alessi — AR04 G | Aldo Rossi gray aluminum table lamp

There is something deliberately archetypal about the AR04: a glass sphere floating above a gray aluminum stem, like a moon held by a column. The form does not try to amaze - rather, it evokes. It recalls the table lamp in its purest essence, the kind that inhabits the collective imagination even before personal memory. The 5W LED light filters through the glass with a softness that the touch dimmer can modulate down to a whisper, making it a faithful companion both for nighttime reading and for an evening atmosphere. Aldo Rossi, one of the most influential Milanese architects of the 20th century, always viewed objects as small architectures inhabited by time. His collaboration with Alessi produced some of the most iconic pieces of Italian design - from the La Conica coffee maker to the Il Conico tea service - all united by a formal language drawing on rationalism and the collective memory of places. The AR04 carries that same poetics in miniature: simplicity not as renunciation, but as distillation. At Stilmobili, we chose it because it is a lamp that does not seek to be the center of attention, yet always ends up becoming just that. It is designed for those who furnish with intention - for those who recognize in an everyday object the possibility of a cultural gesture. It works beautifully on a desk, on a bedside table, or as a freestanding light in a reading nook, thanks to the rechargeable battery that frees it from any connection to a wall outlet. Project notes: height 47 cm, diameter 18 cm. Powered via USB cable with an adapter featuring interchangeable plugs, compatible with international outlets. A technical detail consistent with the cosmopolitan character of an object that fits in anywhere.
