Alessi — Asta AM242/3 | Mendini stainless steel table knife

There is something irreducibly essential about the Asta knife: a blade that is also a handle, a line that leaves no room for superfluity yet manages to be, in the silence of its form, profoundly elegant. Made of polished 18/10 stainless steel, its profile reflects the light on the table with the composure that only great objects can possess. Twenty-two centimeters of steel that become gesture, ritual, presence. Asta was born from the collaboration between Alessandro Mendini and Annalisa Margarini within the AlessiPalinsesto collection, a project that has always cultivated an idea of design as cultural narrative rather than mere function. Mendini - architect, theorist, and gentle provocateur of Italian design - spent decades exploring the boundary between applied art and utilitarian objects, leaving an unmistakable signature in every one of his works: the ability to make every surface an open question. In Asta, that question becomes absolute linearity. At Stilmobili, we chose this set because it embodies a vision of the table as a compositional space, where each element contributes to a quiet harmony. Asta is ideal for those who furnish with intention, who recognize in every detail - even the one hidden in the cutlery drawer - the measure of authentic taste. It naturally complements a contemporary table setting, while also dialoguing beautifully with handcrafted ceramics and natural linens. Project notes: 18/10 stainless steel with a polished finish. Length 22 cm. Weight 70 g. AlessiPalinsesto collection, fall/winter line. Designed by Alessandro Mendini with Annalisa Margarini.
