Alessi — Balthazar AMJ13 10 | Blown-glass Christmas ornament

There is something ancient and precious in the act of hanging a glass ornament on the Christmas tree. Balthasar carries all the symbolic weight of that tradition, sublimating it into an object that is, above all, a small artisan marvel. Made of blown glass and decorated by hand, this 11.5 cm sphere holds its own light within: the light of colors applied with a steady brush, the light of transparent material that captures and reflects the glow of the living-room lights. The project was born from the collaboration between Alessi and Marcello Jori, a Bolognese artist and illustrator among the most original of his generation, who has always moved with ease between painting, comics, and applied design. Jori brings his vision to **A di Alessi** — the segment of the Fabbrica di Sogni dedicated to the freest forms of creative experimentation, where the boundary between object and artwork is deliberately blurred. Balthasar belongs to the fall-winter range, conceived as a Christmas decoration in the highest sense of the term: not a filler, but a presence. We at Stilmobili chose it because it answers a precise question: how to make Christmas feel at home without making it banal. Balthasar is for those who want every detail of their Christmas decorations to have a story to tell. It is the gift for a friend with taste, the finishing touch for a tree that does not want to look like all the others, the small work of art to rediscover each year with the same sense of wonder. Project notes: hand-decorated blown-glass sphere, 11.5 cm in diameter, overall height 10.8 cm. Designer Marcello Jori for Alessi's A collection. Fall/winter range.
