Alessi — Bark BM01 B | Black lacquered steel centerpiece

There is something organic about Bark, something that evokes tree bark - not by imitating it, but by absorbing its rhythm. Extending fifty-one centimeters across, this black epoxy-resin-treated steel centerpiece spreads across the table with the confidence of something that knows it has a definitive form. The matte black absorbs light, holds the gaze, and transforms every surface into a composition. The design was born from the collaboration between Simon Boucquillon and Idir Maaoui, a creative duo who have interpreted the Alessi language with contemporary sensitivity. Their formal research often focuses on the tension between geometry and nature, between the industrial precision of metal and the irregular rhythms of the organic world. Bark is one of the most successful outcomes of this tension: a silhouette that seems cut, not constructed. At Stilmobili, we chose Bark because it represents a rare type of object: one that does not need to be filled to have meaning. Empty, it is already a presence. With fruit, leaves, collected objects - it becomes a story. It is designed for those who furnish with intention, for those who consider the table a space for design, not merely consumption. It suits contemporary and Nordic interiors, as well as homes with a more tactile character where black can provide a counterpoint. Project notes: steel colored with epoxy resin, black finish. Dimensions 51.5 × 19.5 × 5 cm. Alessi collection, autumn/winter season. Code BM01 B.
