Alessi — Bark Crib BM09 | Stainless steel and gold-colored nativity scene

There is something ancient and at the same time radically contemporary about Alessi's Bark Crib: a nativity scene that gives up none of its symbolic roots, yet reinterprets them through the most rigorous language of industrial design. The manger, the Holy Family, the light of the star — everything is here, told in 18/10 stainless steel and gold-plated steel, in a play of surfaces that alternates the coldness of metal with the warmth of gold. Its compact dimensions — 23 × 13 × 10 cm — make it an object to keep close, almost intimate, able to find its place on a shelf, windowsill, or Christmas centerpiece without ever overwhelming the space. The project was created by the creative duo Boucquillon & Maaoui, designers capable of moving effortlessly between tradition and formal abstraction. Their approach to the Christmas theme is neither nostalgic nor ironic, but a subtler third way: the ability to reduce a millennia-old iconography to its essential elements, restoring its contemporary dignity through the purity of its lines. Alessi, long a privileged partner of the most refined European designers, welcomed this piece into its fall/winter collection with the awareness of one who knows how to recognize a design capable of lasting beyond the season. At Stilmobili, we chose the Bark Crib because it meets a need we know well among our customers: the desire to celebrate Christmas without giving in to kitsch, to bring into the home an object devoted as much to form as to meaning. It is designed for those who love design as a universal language, for those who want even the deepest traditions to speak with the same voice as the objects that surround them every day.
