Alessi — Bark Crib BM09 W | White and gold-colored steel nativity scene

There is something ancient yet surprisingly contemporary about Alessi's Bark Crib: a nativity scene that distills the essence of the Nativity into clean, almost archetypal forms, suspended between the solidity of steel and the lightness of a fairy tale. The white epoxy resin finish envelops the figures in an almost lunar whiteness, while the gold-colored steel details convey that quiet luminosity associated with the deepest winter nights. In the hands, it has the weight of an object made to last, to be kept, to return each year to a bookshelf or the center of a table. The project bears the signature of Boucquillon & Maaoui, a creative duo that Alessi chose to reinterpret one of the subjects most deeply rooted in collective memory. Their approach is that of those who work through subtraction: removing the superfluous, preserving the gesture. The result is a composition measuring 23 by 13 centimeters, capable of evoking the entire narrative of the nativity scene without ever yielding to folkloric imitation. A difficult balance, achieved with the discretion that distinguishes the finest design objects. We at Stilmobili chose it because it speaks directly to those who see Christmas as an opportunity for aesthetic care, not decorative excess. It is the right gift for those who love design but have not abandoned the sense of ritual; for those who arrange their home with the same care they use when choosing a book or a record. The Bark Crib becomes part of a collection; it does not end up piled in a box. Project notes: steel with a white epoxy resin finish and gold-colored steel. Dimensions 23 × 13 × 10 cm.
