Alessi — Bark for Christmas BM06 | Steel Christmas decoration

There is something deeply domestic about the bark of a tree: that rough, irregular texture that tells of years of growth and seasons passed. Bark for Christmas captures precisely this botanical memory and translates it into polished AISI 430 steel, transforming industrial material into something surprisingly organic. The porcelain magnets - white, soft to the touch, almost fragile in appearance - contrast with the metallic coolness of the structure, creating a dialogue between nature and artifice that is the unmistakable hallmark of the finest Alessi tradition. The project is by Boucquillon & Maaoui, a French-Tunisian creative duo capable of moving with ease between industrial design and formal research. Their interpretation of the Christmas theme does not give in to the rhetoric of a fir tree laden with ornaments, but instead chooses restraint: an essential silhouette, a surface that evokes the forest more than a decorated living room, an object that speaks of Christmas through suggestion rather than declaration. It is this conceptual shift that makes it interesting well beyond the season it celebrates. At Stilmobili, we chose Bark for Christmas because it represents exactly the kind of object we love: one that is not content simply to be beautiful, but also wants to be thoughtfully designed. It is ideal for those who furnish with consistency and do not want seasonal decorations to betray the style of the rest of the home - for those seeking a Christmas accent that is both discreet and recognizable.
