Details: Description The Barkroll BM04 paper roll holder is part of a collection of objects designed by Michael Boucquillon and Donia Maaoui, inspired by the trees that surround their house in the hills of Lucca. It is made in the Alessi factory in Crusinallo di Omegna through a series of steps that shape the metal sheet to obtain the organic and sinuous shape designed by the two authors. The design of this original paper roll holder evokes the bark of a tree: the perforation recalls the knots in the wood, the cylindrical shape recalls the structure of the trunk. The result is a poetic but functional object that, as the authors explain, reminds us with every tear that paper comes from trees. Also available in black and white.
