Alessi — Birillo PL04 W | Lissoni soap dish in PMMA and steel

There is an almost meditative precision in Birillo's form: a disc resting on the water, white as morning light, with polished stainless steel tracing the boundary between the everyday gesture and the carefully considered detail. PMMA - a material with a milky transparency, light and silky-smooth to the touch - engages in dialogue with 18/10 stainless steel in a chromatic balance that does not seek to amaze, but to endure. Eleven centimeters in diameter, three in height: proportions designed to be present without taking up space. Piero Lissoni is one of the great names in contemporary Italian architecture and design, and the founder of the Lissoni Associati studio in Milan. His approach is that of someone who knows how to remove, rather than add: every surface is a decision, every curve a motivated choice. With Birillo, Lissoni brings the same philosophy that governs his residential interiors and editorial projects into the bathroom - formal rigor that does not exclude warmth, essentiality that does not renounce the sensuality of the material. We chose it for Stilmobili because Birillo is exactly the kind of object that reveals the taste of the person who chooses it without declaring it aloud. It is not an accessory to show off: it quietly transforms the washbasin surface into a composition. It is ideal for those who have already curated every other corner of the home and do not intend to stop at the bathroom door. For those who understand that design is not ornament, but a form of respect for the space and those who inhabit it. Project notes: body in white PMMA, structure in polished 18/10 stainless steel. Dimensions 11 × 11 × 3 cm. Weight 151 g. Part of the Alessi Palinsesto spring/summer collection.
