Alessi — Birillo PL16 W | White PMMA soap dispenser by Lissoni

There is something disarming about Birillo's simplicity: a form that seems to want to disappear, yet remains memorable. Made of white lacquered PMMA, this soap dish for the shower and bathtub possesses the rare quality of well-conceived objects - the ability to inhabit a space without occupying it, to be useful without ever becoming intrusive. The smooth, compact surface, the contained proportions, the absolute white: everything contributes to restoring to the bathroom that sense of quiet order that is the true contemporary luxury. Birillo was created by Piero Lissoni, one of the most rigorous interpreters of Milanese design, capable of translating design discipline into objects that seem inevitable. Lissoni works for Alessi with the same formal consistency that characterizes his architectural work: no superfluous ornament, no concession to forced decoration. The suction-cup attachment system - a technical solution as simple as it is effective - completes a design philosophy that treats function as an aesthetic act in itself. At Stilmobili, we chose Birillo because it represents exactly the kind of object we look for: one that transforms an everyday gesture - putting down the soap, taking a shower - into a moment of small formal perfection. It is designed for those who furnish the bathroom with the same care given to the living room, for those who recognize in detail the measure of a successful project. Project notes: White PMMA, suction-cup attachment for smooth surfaces. Dimensions 19 × 15 × 8 cm. Designed by Piero Lissoni for Alessi, permanent collection.
