Alessi — CACTUS! MSA04/21 | Perforated stainless steel fruit bowl

There is something hypnotic about the way CACTUS! captures the light. The perforated fruit bowl in 18/10 stainless steel transforms an everyday gesture - arranging fruit on the table - into a small design scene. The geometric perforation, which visually echoes the spines and texture of a cactus, casts delicate shadows on the surrounding surfaces and gives the piece a surprising structural lightness for a steel object. Twenty-one centimeters in diameter, weighing less than half a kilo: a discreet yet unmistakable presence. CACTUS! is designed by Marta Sansoni, an Italian designer who, together with Alessi, has developed a thoughtful exploration of the boundary between functional form and narrative object. The project belongs to Alessi's Palinsesto autumn/winter collection - a program that for years has paired the great classics of the design factory with new voices capable of interpreting the present without sacrificing the craftsmanship and conceptual depth that distinguish the Crusinallo brand.
