Alessi — CACTUS! MSA04/21 MSA04/21 B | Perforated steel fruit bowl

There is something deliberately contradictory about placing fruit on a cactus. Alessi's CACTUS! is a perforated fruit bowl made of stainless steel coated with black epoxy resin, with a low profile and a distinctive character: an object that does not hide in the centerpiece, but redefines it. The matte black absorbs light and enhances the colors of fruit, cut flowers, or anything else one chooses to place on it through contrast. The generous 21-centimeter diameter provides ample surface without being cumbersome; the perforations lighten its visual mass and reveal, in the void between solid forms, the true design of the piece. CACTUS! was created by Marta Sansoni, an Italian designer who found fertile ground with Alessi for exploring the tension between irony and formal rigor. The name - with its exclamation mark - is already a manifesto: the object presents itself with the same boldness as a desert plant blooming where you least expect it. Designed for the spring/summer lineup of the Alessi collection, it brings seasonal lightness without sacrificing the solidity of metal. We chose it for Stilmobili because it is one of those objects capable of saying a great deal about the intelligence of the person who chose it. It does not seduce with opulence, but with the precision of its design gesture. It is ideal for those who furnish with knowing irony, for those seeking a design gift unlike any centerpiece they have seen before, and for those who know that the kitchen and dining room also deserve a coherent aesthetic perspective. Design notes: stainless steel painted with epoxy resin, black. Diameter 21 cm, height 9.5 cm. Weight 518 g. Designer Marta Sansoni for Alessi.
