Alessi — CACTUS! MSA04/29 | Perforated stainless steel fruit bowl

There is something surprisingly alive about a steel object. CACTUS! demonstrates this with disarming elegance: a fruit bowl with a sinuous, perforated profile and a generous diameter of 29 centimeters, capable of transforming the centerpiece into a small desert landscape. 18/10 stainless steel - the quintessential material of the Alessi tradition - becomes organic, almost botanical matter here, with its perforated geometries casting shifting shadows on the surface below and allowing the fruit to breathe as if beneath a shaded pergola. The design bears the signature of Marta Sansoni, an Italian designer who has worked for years within Alessi's creative sphere, with a perspective capable of moving between formal rigor and affectionate irony. CACTUS! belongs to Alessi's main collection and neatly encapsulates that entirely Italian tension between domestic functionality and poetic storytelling: the cactus as a metaphor for resilience, austere beauty, and silent presence. A simple yet powerful idea that finds its most coherent expression in perforated steel. At Stilmobili, we chose CACTUS! because it embodies exactly what we look for in a furnishing accessory: the ability to inhabit a space with personality without overwhelming it. It is the right piece for those coming from a rigorous kitchen design and looking for a touch of ironic warmth, or for anyone who wants to give something memorable without slipping into decoration for its own sake. It works on a minimalist dining table just as well as on a 1970s sideboard. Design notes: 18/10 stainless steel, polished finish, diameter 29 cm, height 10.8 cm. Weight 855 g. Made by Alessi, Italy. Permanent collection, fall/winter lineup.
