Alessi — Chiringuito | Arad Design Wine Cooler

Alessi Chiringuito - The Cooler That Reinterprets Tradition

There is something ritualistic about bringing a well-chilled bottle of wine to the table. Alessi's Chiringuito transforms this moment into a small act of style: the unmistakable shape of the classic wine cooler is reinterpreted through Ron Arad's unconventional vision, resulting in an object that captures attention even before fulfilling its function.

Why we chose it for you

Alessi was founded in 1921 on Lake Orta as an artisan workshop and has since established itself as one of the world's most renowned research laboratories in applied design. The Chiringuito is a precise example of this philosophy: taking a functional, established typology - the wine cooler - and subjecting it to an unexpected formal interpretation. Ron Arad, an Israeli-born architect and designer known for his sculptural approach to materials and forms, reinterprets the classic ice bucket with a vision that is both provocative and coherent. The result is an object that engages with the space around it and never hides.
