Alessi — Cobosmico GJ02 16 | Blown glass Christmas bauble

There is something suspended between the playful and the cosmic in this Alessi Christmas bauble: an object with the lightness of blown glass and the density of a miniature universe. Hung from a tree branch, it captures the light and returns it transformed, animated by the pictorial decorations applied by hand by glass artisans according to a tradition that allows no shortcuts. Each piece is unique in the truest sense of the word - not as a marketing convention, but because of the very nature of the human gesture that produced it. Cobosmico was born from a collaboration between Massimo Giacon and Marcello Jori, two figures who represent a happy anomaly in the Italian design landscape: artists who turned to everyday objects, capable of infusing equal measures of irony and depth. Giacon - a comic artist, musician, and one of the most original designers of his generation - and Jori, a Bolognese painter and illustrator with an unmistakably pop and surreal style, have together built an imaginary world that belongs to the Alessi collection as naturally as it belongs to contemporary art. The GJ02 code bears their initials like a double signature, a dialogue between two visions of the world. We chose Cobosmico because it represents exactly what we look for when we talk about quality decoration: not just any ornament, but a small handcrafted object to cherish, collect, and give with intention. It is ideal for those who love the Christmas tree as an exercise in personal taste, for those who collect Alessi, or for anyone who wants to give a memorable gift without resorting to the predictable. Project notes: Mouth-blown glass, hand-decorated. Dimensions 7 × 5 × 7 cm. Limited-edition production, discontinued — collector's item.
