Alessi — Colombina FM10/5 | White porcelain dessert plate

There is something unexpectedly alive in Colombina’s white porcelain. The FM10/5 dessert plate does not present the cold, predictable geometry of traditional tableware: its shape unfolds softly, almost organically, as if the material had found the point of balance between rigor and grace on its own. Twenty-four centimeters of pristine surface that seem to hold light rather than reflect it, inviting the eye even before the palate. Colombina was born from the vision of Doriana and Massimiliano Fuksas, one of the most iconoclastic couples in contemporary international architecture. Their approach to design - always driven by a tension between large scale and miniature detail - finds an intimate and surprising expression in the collection for Alessi. The Colombina line translates onto the table the fluid spatial poetics that define their most famous buildings: no unnecessary sharp edges, no rigidity without a formal reason. The absolute white of the porcelain becomes the silence upon which the plate’s composition can find its voice. At Stilmobili, we chose Colombina because it embodies exactly the rarity we seek: objects that do not merely serve a function, but inhabit the table with a presence of their own. FM10/5 is the ideal plate for those who create a table setting with the same care they use when choosing a work of art, for those who want the dessert moment - often overlooked in the table’s visual composition - to instead become a pause of pure form.
