Alessi — Colombina FM25 B | Fuksas wall mirror, black

There is something theatrical yet tranquil about Alessi's Colombina mirror: the frame in steel painted with epoxy resin in matte black draws a profile that does not merely contain the reflective surface, but inhabits it. The proportions - 65 × 73 centimetres - suggest a decisive presence, capable of structuring a wall without overwhelming it. Black chooses not to compete with the light: it absorbs it, reinterprets it, and returns the mirror to its full centrality. Colombina is a collection designed by Doriana and Massimiliano Fuksas, partners in life and design, among the most visionary Italian architecture practices with an international outlook. Their approach to design always begins on a large scale - major infrastructure, airports, museums - and then condenses into objects capable of bringing the same formal tension into everyday life. In Colombina, this dialogue between architecture and domestic intimacy becomes evident: the frame is not decoration, it is structure. A threshold that defines the space even before the light enters the scene. At Stilmobili, we chose FM25 B because it embodies exactly the tension we seek when selecting an object for the home: it is not content simply to function, it wants to mean something. It is the right mirror for those who furnish with consistency, who do not separate aesthetics from material quality, who know that black - true, dense, and resolute - is never a renunciation but a declaration.
