Alessi — Conversational Objects | Abloh Design Cutlery Set

Alessi Conversational Objects — Cutlery that starts the conversation

A tableware set that does more than serve a meal: it redefines the ritual of dining as a moment of exchange, thought and conviviality. Designed by Virgil Abloh, Conversational Objects brings the industrial aesthetic of the garage to the center of the table, transforming every dinner into a conscious and intentional act.

The Conversational Objects Project

Virgil Abloh — designer, architect and one of the most influential cultural figures of his time — developed this set from a reflection on the tradition of shared meals and the value of everyday objects. Its philosophy lies in connecting the industrial world with design: each element recalls mechanical assembly, with forms evoking the threaded bolt and workshop precision. The matching cutlery holder, with a matte finish consistent with that of the cutlery, is not a secondary accessory but an integral part of the visual narrative. The set is designed to be assembled by its owner — a gesture that transforms unboxing into a first act of participation in the project.
