There is something ancient and at the same time radically contemporary about the Coppa Camuna: a form that seems to emerge from collective memory, precisely spun from carbon steel and then treated with beeswax, a living, millennia-old material that coats its surface with a warm, matte patina. The Coppa Camuna was conceived by Giulio Iacchetti, one of the Italian designers most capable of combining cultural reflection with formal intuition. It is part of the "Il Tornitore Matto" collection, a project in which turning - one of the oldest craft techniques - becomes a tool for poetic investigation into the relationship between material, gesture, and object. The reference to the rock engravings of Val Camonica, a UNESCO World Heritage site and a primordial record of human habitation, is not ornamental: it is the conceptual heart of the piece, bringing an echo of domestic sacredness into the contemporary home.
