Alessi DC06/1 - The Moka Reimagined by David Chipperfield

There is a ritual that happens every morning, almost without thinking: screwing the moka pot together and waiting for the sound of the coffee rising. David Chipperfield has taken this ritual and observed it with a fresh eye, giving us a coffee maker that feels different in the hand, opens with one hand, and turns the stovetop into something more refined.

Why we chose it for you

Alessi was founded in 1921 on Lake Orta as an artisan workshop and has collaborated for decades with the most important international designers to redefine everyday objects. The DC06/1 is the result of that same pursuit: David Chipperfield - an architect known for the geometric precision of his work - designed an eleven-sided form that reinterprets the classic moka silhouette without betraying it. The flat lid becomes a natural platform for warming espresso cups; the knob is positioned so the lid can be lifted with a single finger. Thoughtful details, not decoration.
