Alessi — Dear Charlie JT01 | Chromed zamak banana holder

There is something radically ironic yet perfectly sensible about the idea of designing an object dedicated exclusively to bananas. Dear Charlie springs from this playful yet precise insight: a chromed zamak banana holder that does not merely keep the fruit balanced, but celebrates it, puts it on display, and gives it the quiet dignity of an exhibition piece. The reflective chrome surface interacts with the fruit's natural curves, creating a play of reflections that transforms the kitchen counter or sideboard into a small tableau vivant. The design is by John Truex, an American designer who worked for many years within Alessi's creative orbit, contributing to a period of domestic objects capable of overturning the hierarchy between utility and ornament. Dear Charlie - the name itself is an affectionate gesture, almost a dedication - belongs to the more narrative and surreal side of Alessi's production, that fine line that transforms kitchen accessories into small pop sculptures, imbued with humor and visual culture. At Stilmobili, we chose Dear Charlie for those who appreciate the unexpected detail: not the neutral accessory that disappears into its surroundings, but the object that becomes a conversation piece. It is designed for those who furnish thoughtfully and are not afraid to bring a touch of refined irony to the table - literally. Perfect as a gift for a design lover who already has everything, or as an eccentric accent in a tasteful kitchen. Project notes: dimensions 16.5 × 9.5 × 28 cm, made of chromed zamak, Alessi permanent collection, fall/winter lineup.
