Alessi — Dédé PS18 BM | Resin doorstop with Brown Metal finish

There is something irresistibly anthropomorphic about Dédé: a silhouette that seems almost ready to take a step, a silent and complicit presence that occupies space with the ease of someone who knows they are being watched. Made of thermoplastic resin with a PVD coating in a Brown Metal tone, this doorstop is an object that challenges its own function — too beautiful to go unnoticed, too intelligent to be merely useful. The burnished warmth of the surface dialogues with wooden floors, polished concrete, and natural stone: it adapts, fits in, and convinces. Dédé was born from the mind of Philippe Starck, the French designer who more than anyone else has brought aesthetic provocation into everyday objects, transforming them into small cultural manifestos. With Alessi, Starck has built a partnership founded on irony and formal rigour, where every piece tells a story that goes beyond the product. Dédé is no exception: it is a character, not an accessory. The name itself — familiar, almost affectionate — suggests a relationship, an intimacy with domestic space that few objects manage to establish. We chose it for Stilmobili because it perfectly embodies that boundary between furniture and sculpture that has always been part of who we are. It is the right gift for those who love design with a smile, the unexpected addition to an entrance hall or study where everything has already been carefully considered — but one touch of character was still missing. Ideal for contemporary spaces that do not take themselves too seriously, or for those who want to make that clear with elegance.
