Alessi — Dressed in Wood MW23 | Wanders beech cheese plate

There is something ancient yet sophisticated about a polished beechwood disc that brings the flavors of the earth to the table. Alessi's MW23 *Dressed in Wood* is a generous 41.8-centimeter cheese platter, capable of transforming every convivial moment into a composition worthy of being observed before it is even tasted. The warm, dense beechwood features a raised decoration that runs across the surface like textile embroidery: ornamental motifs evoking lace, trimmings, and fine fabric textures. The touch reveals a depth that the eye senses, but only the hand can confirm. The design bears the signature of Marcel Wanders, one of the most visionary Dutch designers of his generation, known for his ability to weave craftsmanship, memory, and sophisticated irony into objects that always seem suspended between fairy tale and manifesto. With the *Dressed* collection - of which this platter is part - Wanders brings his most recognizable language to Alessi: decoration as structure, ornament as meaning. Not superficial embellishment, but a form that speaks. At Stilmobili, we chose this piece because it represents exactly what we look for in our tableware: objects with something to say, even on an empty, set table. The MW23 is ideal for those who love to entertain thoughtfully, those who consider the table an expressive space, and those looking for a design gift that combines function and beauty without compromise. Design notes: natural beechwood, raised decoration, diameter 41.8 cm, height 2 cm. Weight 2.1 kg. Alessi spring/summer collection.
