Alessi — Dressed in Wood MW24 | PMMA and beech bell

There is something intriguing about transparency: Alessi's MW24 cloche does not hide what it protects, but frames it. Made of crystal-clear PMMA, it lets light pass through its hemispherical form as naturally as blown glass catches the morning sun. Crowning it is a turned beechwood knob - warm, organic, tactile - introducing a quiet tension between the rigor of the synthetic material and the softness of natural matter. A minimal gesture capable of changing everything. Behind this object is Marcel Wanders, one of the most visionary Dutch designers of his generation, able to blend irony, fairy tale, and formal rigor into a highly personal synthesis. His collaboration with Alessi has always sought that point of balance between the most everyday domesticity and the exceptional nature of beauty. "Dressed in Wood" is precisely that: a title that already tells the story of the project, like a garment worn over an abstract structure, like a wooden detail that domesticates the coldness of plastic. We chose it for Stilmobili because it is a piece that can belong in many settings without ever going unnoticed - at the center of a carefully set table, on a walnut sideboard, or on a kitchen counter where design is not ornament but habit.
