Alessi — Edges ITM26 | Nika Zupanc perforated tray

There is something hypnotic about the edge of Edges: a ribbon of 18/10 stainless steel that opens into a geometric lacework, as if the metal had learned to breathe. The tray has a smooth, compact surface at the center, while the perimeter dissolves into a perforated weave that projects shadows and reflections onto the surface below. Holding it in your hands reveals an almost artisanal precision, a balanced weight that conveys solidity without ever sacrificing visual lightness. Edges was born from the pencil of Nika Zupanc, one of the most refined Slovenian voices on the international design scene, capable of weaving a constant dialogue between the sensuality of form and the rigor of industrial material. The piece belongs to the Il Tornitore Matto collection, one of the creative universes in which Alessi explores the boundary between functional object and table sculpture. Here, Zupanc brings her most recognizable stylistic signature: the tension between control and ornament, between fullness and emptiness, chasing each other without either ever prevailing over the other. We chose it for Stilmobili because it represents exactly what we look for in every piece: an object capable of telling a story even before it is used. Edges is designed for those who love setting the table with intention, for those who consider the table a field of expression rather than a simple necessity. It is the charger that transforms a meal into a ceremony, the tray that remains on display even when empty. Project notes: 18/10 stainless steel, diameter 32.50 cm, weight 805 g. Suitable for the autumn/winter season, designed for the table but naturally at ease as a permanent centerpiece.
