Alessi — Edo PU102/24 | Low saucepan in steel by Urquiola

There is something deeply Mediterranean about the silhouette of Edo, the low, two-handled saucepan that Patricia Urquiola conceived for Alessi with her customary ability to transform a utilitarian object into a sensory experience. The 18/10 stainless steel reveals all its nobility here: a surface that discreetly captures the light in the kitchen, while the brown PVD-coated handles introduce a warm, almost earthy colour accent that dialogues with the copper pots and wooden chopping boards of the most carefully curated kitchens. The low, wide shape — 33 centimetres in diameter with a generous capacity of 3.25 litres — invites slow cooking, thick soups, and ragùs that need time. Patricia Urquiola, a Milan-based designer trained in Madrid, brings to Edo her vision of a design that never separates aesthetics from function. The collection stems from the idea that the kitchen is a narrative space, a place where objects tell us who we are even before the food is plated. The magnetic steel base makes the saucepan compatible with every type of cooktop, including induction, with no technical compromises whatsoever. We chose it for Stilmobili because Edo is one of those rarities: a kitchen piece that does not hide away in drawers. It belongs to those who see meal preparation as both a creative and domestic act, to those who furnish their kitchen with the same care reserved for the living room. It is the ideal gift for a housewarming, a wedding, or for anyone who finally wants to stop compromising. Project notes: 18/10 stainless steel, handles with brown PVD finish, magnetic base for induction. Dimensions 33 × 24 × 10 cm. Weight 1.79 kg. Capacity 3.25 litres.
