Alessi — ES16/75 ES16/75 2 | Sottsass airtight glass and beechwood jar

There is something profoundly Mediterranean about the way transparent glass converses with natural beechwood in this airtight jar designed by Ettore Sottsass. The glass body - spacious and generous in its 75 centiliters - reveals what it holds, while the beechwood lid comes in shades of pink, red, and yellow: colors that do not fear the silence of a kitchen; rather, they enliven it with a quiet, never vulgar chromatic joy. The airtight seal ensures practical functionality, without the form ever having to compromise. Ettore Sottsass, the undisputed master of Italian radical design and founder of the Memphis movement, spent decades designing with a rare consistency: treating every object - even the most everyday one - as a cultural act. This jar belongs to the *Alessi 100 Values Collection*, an editorial project that brings together the most significant pieces in the history of the Crusinallo factory, objects that embody enduring aesthetic and narrative values, capable of transcending the seasons without growing old. At Stilmobili, we chose it because it is one of those objects that transform a pantry into a display. It is designed for those who consider the kitchen an extension of their personal taste, not merely a functional space. Ideal as a quality gift or as part of an intentional color composition on shelves and countertops, it appeals to those who know Sottsass and to those discovering him for the first time through the immediate beauty of color. Project notes: height 17 cm, diameter 12 cm, capacity 75 cl. Beechwood lid available in pink, red, and yellow. Spring/summer collection.
