Alessi — ES18 2 | Beechwood spice grinder by Ettore Sottsass

There is something profoundly domestic and at the same time radically poetic about these three mills by Ettore Sottsass. Beech wood returns to its most straightforward essence - warm, tactile, familiar - and takes on pink, red, and yellow with the same naturalness with which a painter chooses the colors of a spring morning. In your hand, they have just the right weight: neither a precious object too delicate to touch nor an anonymous utensil to hide away. They sit on the table like living presences. Ettore Sottsass, a monumental figure in 20th-century Italian design and a founding spirit of the Memphis Group, always rejected the neutrality of things. For him, every object had to communicate, move, and even provoke. These salt, pepper, and spice mills belong to Alessi's *100 Values Collection* - an editorial project that brings together iconic pieces designed by the greatest masters of international design, returning them to everyday life with all their cultural power intact. Sottsass's touch is recognizable here too: clean geometries, non-random colors, a simplicity that conceals depth. At Stilmobili, we chose them because they embody what we believe in: beauty should not have to wait for special occasions. They are perfect for those who love setting the table with intention, for those who give gifts with genuine taste, and for those who want every corner of their home to tell something about them. A chromatic triptych that transforms the most everyday gesture - grinding pepper - into a small act of style. Project notes: height 11 cm, diameter 7 cm, beech wood in pink, red, and yellow.
