Alessi — Baby Jesus Ball | Blown Glass Decoration

Alessi — Baby Jesus Blown-Glass Bauble — The Nativity Suspended Among the Branches

There is something ancient and poetic about hanging a Christmas bauble: a domestic ritual renewed every year, filled with anticipation and memory. The Baby Jesus Bauble brings the story of the Nativity to a tree - or a chandelier, or among the shelves of a bookcase - blown into glass and hand-painted with the care of someone who knows the difference between an object and a gesture.

Why we chose it for you

This decoration is part of Le Palle Presepe, a project conceived by artist and illustrator Marcello Jori for Alessi: an idea that dissolves the boundary between the traditional nativity scene and contemporary decoration, giving Christmas symbols a new and surprising form. Alessi - a decorative arts workshop founded in 1921 on Lake Orta - has always had the ability to transform everyday objects into pieces of material culture. Each bauble is mouth-blown and hand-decorated in Italy, making every piece slightly unique.
