Alessi — GJ03 1 | Miracolata, porcelain Christmas figurine

There is something suspended between the sacred and the playful in Miracolata: a white porcelain figurine that carries the ironic lightness and formal grace that only Italian design can hold together without falling into excess. Its compact dimensions - just 9.5 centimetres tall - make it a discreet presence that nevertheless draws the eye, thanks to hand-executed decoration that makes each example a unique piece, differing from the others by the slightest brushstroke. Miracolata was born from the collaboration between Massimo Giacon and Marcello Jori, two unconventional and prolific figures in the Italian design and illustration scene: comic artists, painters, designers - unclassifiable by definition. Their partnership with Alessi produced the Alessi Palinsesto collection, a visionary universe in which popular and learned iconography blend with humour and depth. In this figurine, their signature style is unmistakable: figures that seem to have emerged both from an ancient devotional image and from a contemporary illustrated panel. At Stilmobili, we chose Miracolata because it perfectly embodies that borderline area where design becomes storytelling. It is not simply a Christmas ornament: it is a collectible object to give to someone who loves art applied to everyday objects, someone looking under the tree for something with history, authorship, and a hidden smile tucked into the folds of its form. Project notes: hand-decorated porcelain; dimensions 9.5 × 4.6 × 3.5 cm; weight 115 g. Alessi Palinsesto Collection, Palinsesto fall/winter. Designed by Massimo Giacon and Marcello Jori.
